A Methodical Process from Measurement to Handover
We do not begin fabrication until site surveys, structural checks, and client sign-off on drawings are complete.
Our engagement model follows four defined stages: initial site survey and U-value modelling; specification drawing and client approval; factory fabrication of aluminium frames and glazing units; and on-site installation with pressure testing and a formal handover checklist. Typical residential projects of six to twelve windows are completed within ten working days of drawing approval. Commercial projects with thirty or more units are scheduled in phases, with a dedicated site foreman, daily progress reports, and a structural sign-off document provided at each phase milestone. We do not subcontract installation crews; all fitters are Ecologywindowx employees trained to our internal certification standard.

Residential Window Replacement
Full removal of existing frames, structural opening inspection, custom aluminium frame fabrication, and installation of single or double-glazed units. Suitable for bungalows, maisonettes, and apartment blocks up to six storeys. Dust containment and debris removal are included in every residential engagement.
Commercial Glazing Systems
Design and installation of aluminium curtain-wall panels, storefront glazing, and large-format fixed lights for corporate offices, retail premises, and hospitality properties. We coordinate with structural engineers and architects and provide as-built drawings for building authority submissions.
Double Glazing Upgrade
Retrofit of double-glazed insulating glass units (IGUs) into existing aluminium frames where the frame depth permits. This service improves acoustic rating by up to 35 dB and reduces solar heat gain coefficient without requiring full frame replacement — a cost-effective upgrade for occupied commercial properties.
Window Maintenance and Seal Repair
Periodic inspection, hardware adjustment, weather-seal replacement, and glass repair for existing aluminium-framed windows. Available on annual maintenance contracts for property management companies and individual commercial landlords. Response to urgent seal failures is typically within 48 hours for Nairobi Central Business District clients.
Glazing Consultation and Specification
An independent technical report covering thermal performance targets, glazing product selection, frame profile recommendations, and compliance with Kenya Building Code structural requirements. Suitable for architects and quantity surveyors requiring a specialist glazing sub-consultant's input before tender.

Does double glazing actually make a difference at Nairobi's altitude?
Yes — though the primary driver at 1,795 m is solar heat gain rather than cold-weather insulation. Double-glazed units with a low-emissivity coating on the inner pane reduce the amount of infrared energy transmitted into the building, lowering the cooling load on air-conditioning systems. Independent audits on completed Ecologywindowx projects have recorded cooling-load reductions between 15 % and 22 % depending on facade orientation.
How long does a typical residential installation take?
For a standard bungalow with eight to twelve window openings, site survey and drawing approval take three to five working days, fabrication takes five to seven working days, and installation takes two to three working days. Most residential projects are completed from first survey to handover within fifteen working days, weather permitting.
Do you work with architects and project managers, or only with end clients?
We work with both. Architects and quantity surveyors can engage us as a specialist glazing sub-consultant at design stage; we provide specification drawings, U-value calculations, and bill-of-quantities inputs. We also accept direct commissions from property owners. In either case, the same technical process and documentation standards apply.
What are the limits of your service area?
Our primary coverage is Nairobi County, including all major zones from Karen to Eastlands. We extend to Kiambu and Machakos counties for projects of ten or more window units. We do not currently serve the Coast or Rift Valley regions, and we do not ship frames or glass for self-installation — our warranty is tied to Ecologywindowx-supervised fitting.
Is there a minimum project size?
For new residential installations, the minimum is four window units. For the double-glazing upgrade service, the minimum is six units, as the logistics of glazing delivery and seal-curing equipment make smaller visits uneconomical. Glazing consultation reports are available as standalone engagements with no unit minimum.
